What This Step Covers
Creating your auction is the first and most important step — this is the foundation everything else builds on. In this step, you define the core parameters of your auction event: sport, tournament name, date, format, team count, currency, and venue.
CricSmart supports three sports out of the box: cricket, kabaddi, and pickleball. While the platform is built around cricket auctions, the same bidding mechanics work perfectly for kabaddi leagues and pickleball tournaments. Select the sport that matches your event.
Next, you'll enter your tournament details — the tournament name (e.g., "Corporate Cricket League 2025"), the auction date, and the venue. These details appear on the auction dashboard, broadcast overlay, and spectator view, so they should be accurate and professional.
The auction format is a critical decision. Sequential mode auctions all players grade-by-grade (all Marquee first, then Grade A, then B, etc.) — exactly like the IPL mega auction. Mixed mode shuffles all players together randomly, creating a different strategic dynamic. You can always adjust this later before going live.
Finally, set the number of teams and currency. CricSmart supports multi-currency (₹ INR, $ USD, € EUR, £ GBP, AED, and more), making it suitable for international tournaments. The team count determines how many team profiles and purses you'll set up in Step 5.
Creating Your Auction — Step by Step
Select Your Sport
Choose cricket, kabaddi, or pickleball. This determines default player roles and grade templates.
Enter Tournament Details
Add tournament name, auction date, and venue. These appear on all views (dashboard, broadcast, spectator).
Choose Auction Format
Sequential (grade-by-grade like IPL) or Mixed (all players shuffled). You can change this later.
Set Team Count
How many teams will participate? Common: 4-8 for casual, 8-12 for competitive, 12-20 for large leagues.
Configure Currency
Select your currency (₹, $, €, £, AED). This sets the display format for all purses and bids.
