Custom Fields & Player Data Enhancement

Rich player profiles with custom fields. Auto-detected from Excel, searchable, and live on auction cards.

Enhancing Player Data with Custom Fields

Beyond the default fields (name, role, phone, base price), CricSmart lets you add custom fields to enrich player profiles. These fields appear on player cards during the live auction and help team owners make better-informed bidding decisions.

Field Types

CricSmart supports four field types:

  • Text: Free-form text (e.g., batting style "Left-hand", bowling style "Right-arm off-spin")
  • Number: Numeric values (e.g., jersey number 45, base price 500000)
  • Dropdown: Pre-defined options (e.g., batting style: Left/Right; bowling style: Fast/Medium/Spin)
  • Image: Image upload (e.g., player photo, action shot)

Auto-Detection from Excel

When you import players from Excel (Step 2), any extra columns beyond the standard ones are automatically created as custom fields. If your Excel has "Batting Style", "Jersey Number", and "CricHeroes Link" columns, they become custom fields automatically — no manual configuration needed.

This is a huge time-saver. Most leagues already have rich player data in their spreadsheets. Just include the columns in your import and they'll show up on player cards during the auction.

Searchable Fields

Custom fields are searchable in the player pool. Looking for all left-handed batsmen? Search by batting style. Need players with a specific bowling style? Filter by your dropdown field. This makes managing large player pools much easier.

Display on Live Auction Cards

During the live auction, custom fields appear on player cards alongside the standard information (name, role, grade, base price). Team owners see batting style, bowling style, jersey number — whatever fields you've configured — right on the card. This helps them make data-driven bidding decisions in real-time.

CricHeroes Integration: If you've linked CricHeroes profiles, real batting and bowling stats appear on the cards too — a CricSmart exclusive that no other platform offers.
