Allocating Players to Grades & Setting Pool Order
Drag, drop, reorder. Control exactly how your auction flows — and preview before going live.
Assigning Players to Grades
Now that your grades are created, it's time to assign each player to a grade. This is where you decide which players are Marquee stars, which are Grade A regulars, and which fill the budget tiers.
Drag-and-Drop Allocation
CricSmart provides a visual drag-and-drop interface for grade allocation. Simply drag player cards from the unassigned pool into their target grade. You can also multi-select players and batch-assign them to a grade — perfect for large player pools.
When assigning grades, consider player skill level, past performance, and market value. Your Marquee grade should have the genuine stars — players who will generate the biggest bids and most excitement. Grade C should be developing players or those who fill specific squad roles.
Pool Ordering
Within each grade, you can reorder players to control the auction sequence. In sequential mode, players are presented grade-by-grade in the order you set. This is powerful — you can front-load exciting players to build momentum, or save stars for later to keep teams engaged.
Sequential vs Mixed Mode Decision
Sequential mode presents all Marquee players first, then Grade A, then B, then C. This is the IPL mega auction format — predictable, structured, and dramatic. Teams know exactly when each tier is coming and can plan accordingly.
Mixed mode shuffles all grades together randomly. Teams don't know what's coming next, creating a different kind of excitement and strategic challenge. This works well for casual leagues that want unpredictability.
